POSITION:
RESTAURANT MANAGER
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the restaurant as well as overall responsibility for premises management and customer experience.
The quality and presentation of all food and drink will be at the forefront of the dining experience. This requires an exemplar knowledge of all dishes, ingredients and products across the food and drinks menus.
The Restaurant Manager will work closely with the Owner and Head Chef to bring EDIT’s vision and mission alive. They will be someone excited by our approach and core values, able to shape their role and the growth of the restaurant, whilst maintaining the highest levels of service possible.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the day-to-day management of all restaurant operations including front of house hosting, rota and stock management
· Lead, manage and support the front of house and bar team, and create a positive, welcoming, safe and respectful environment for all customers and employees
· Provide expertise and quality control of all dishes, ingredients and drinks with a focus on provenance, sustainability and seasonality, advocating for our core principles throughout the customer and employee experience
· Respond to customer communications and enquiries.
· Work on new bar product ranges, drinks and recipes
· Report on sales, service, staffing and other core metrics and assistance with financial forecasting and budget management
· Maximise sales through increased spend per head, upselling and excellent customer service
· Ensure that all systems and processes are being followed and are kept up to date including reservations, stock management, ordering and ePOS
· Management of health and safety including fire checks, reporting of incidents and accident management, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
· Support the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards of food preparation and service, and to monitor and maintain health and safety standards
· Advocate for EDIT’s ethical ethos and embody the core principles in all your work and ensure this is consistent across the entire team
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• A multi-talented individual who is excited by our sustainable approach and able to contribute to the growth of the restaurant whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
• At least three years working in hospitality, with at least two years in a managerial position with relevant experience e.g. fine dining, sustainable food, plant-based cuisine
• Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team
· Excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to host with charm and warmth
· Commitment to our principles, which comes with a willingness to embed these throughout all your work and an eagerness to learn more about them
· Able to legally work and live in the UK
